isn’t that just the best word to open with?!
I love surprising people!
Before I transitioned into a stay-at-home-mom, I worked at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. If you ever want to go visit a beautiful campus with amazing people, visit Pepperdine!
It has gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. But believe it or not, the best thing about Pepperdine was not the views. It was the people. The community there is unlike no other. This includes the students, staff, and faculty. They are all amazing.
Before I left my career at Pepperdine University, I wanted to do something special as a token of my appreciation to the university.
Ameriwood Home made this dream happen!
I have partnered with them to surprise
ONE AWESOME STUDENT
new furniture for their college apartment!
The winner is…Davina!
Davina is a senior at Pepperdine University majoring in English Education.
She is not only an outstanding student, but
she is out in the community making a difference.
When I asked her what advice she would give college students, she said,
“I think my best advice to students about to enter college
or currently in college would have to be to find
a balance between the magical and the realistic.
Enjoy the magic of opportunity and choice,
but embrace and take control of
the reality of the world around you.
This world isn’t about happen-chance,
it’s what you make of it; so go out and
grab it with a happy heart.”
This is why I wanted to surprise Davina.
Her heart to help others fulfill their dreams
and her passion to give to the community
made her the perfect person for
this college apartment makeover!
