Grandma's Best Italian Meatballs!

After giving birth to my second child, my dear friend brought me her grandma in-law's most cherished recipe. It is delicious! It is also so incredibly easy to make and you can freeze it to use for future meals!

Ingredients

FOR THE MEATBALLS

  • 1 1/2 lb Ground Beef or Turkey
  • 1/2 lb Ground Pork
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Bread Crumbs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Oregano
  • 2 tsp Parsley
  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice

FOR THE SAUCE

  • 28 oz Can of Crushed Tomatoes in Puree
  • 18 oz Tomato Paste
  • 3 cans of Water (use the Tomato Paste can to measure)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 2 tsp Parsley
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

FOR THE SAUCE

  • Mix all the ingredients in a large pot or stock pot.
  • Set aside, and make the meatballs.

FOR THE MEATBALLS

  • Mix all the ingredients together and form into balls.
  • Drop the meatballs into the sauce to cook.
  • Cover and cook for 1.5 hours with the meatballs inside the stock pot.
  • Start with medium to high heat. Once it boils, turn low to simmer.
  • Shake the pot every 1/2 hour to stir and cook the meatballs evenly.
  • Enjoy!
