2. Wild Orange
Citrus oils are the best! Anybody else feel like when they smell citrus, it reminds them of a clean house…and it just makes you happy?! I feel this way every time I open my Wild Orange!
Not only does it smell so good and refreshing, but it has cleansing and purifying properties that helps uplift the environment around you. I especially love its ability to support healthy immune function.
3. Deep Blue
This is actually my husband’s favorite essential oil! He mainly uses it for any body pains, such as back and neck pains. Deep Blue is all about soothing and cooling.
It is great for massages and after intense workouts.
For my pregnancy, I have been using Deep Blue for my hips and ankles. It helps with the swelling and increases circulation.
My favorite way to use Deep Blue is to put it in a nice warm bath with Epsom Salt + 2 drops of Deep Blue and 2 drops of lavender.
Oh, Lavender, you have been a lifesaver for me for the past two decades. But now, I have found the best Lavender essential oil! With DoTerra, I do not need to add too many drops, because of its potency and purity.
Lavender helps with pregnancy insomnia and early contractions, such as Braxton Hicks.
Peppermint helps with nausea and headaches. It also provides you that natural energy that seems to be nonexistent when you are pregnant.
NOTE: Many pregnant women choose to avoid Peppermint during late 3rd trimester and postpartum, as it can decrease milk supply.
6. On Guard
On Guard is a family favorite! It provides a safe and natural way to protect and maintain a healthy immune system. It supports the body’s natural antioxidant defenses.
This is perfect for pregnancy, when you feel like you may be coming down with something, and you want to nip it in the butt before it gets any worst!
I put this on at the bottom of my feet with an essential oil roller (which is so easy to make!)
NOTE: Did you know applying essential oil on your feet and spine are the best places to apply topically? Your feet and spine are connected to the most nerves in your body!
Frankincense is “the king of oils,” as there are so many beneficial properties in it for your health! For centuries, it has been known to provide benefits to the immune, digestive, and and respiratory systems.
I find Frankincense the most helpful in my pregnancy for those common pregnancy headaches/head tension, morning sickness, and mental fatigue.
Similar to other citrus oils, grapefruit is beneficial for uplifting mood, promoting healthy skin, cleansing and purifying, especially from stress and mental toxicity.
I also find so much joy when I add grapefruit in my diffuser and rollers! Something about the sweet aroma of it brings me joy in my pregnancy!
Aromatouch helps lessen tension with its relaxing and comforting effects. I personally like to add it in my roller bottles and apply Aromatouch on my neck and shoulders.
I instantly feel relaxed. Aromatouch is the best for massages!

Essential Oils to Avoid
↠ During Pregnancy ↞
Many moms and essential oil specialists have listed some essential oils to avoid during pregnancy, as they can start early labor, contractions, etc.
These include: Birch, Cassia, Cinnamon, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Thyme, Wintergreen, Clary Sage.
Why Essential Oils?
After reading the TOP 10 Essential Oils for Pregnancy, it all sounds nice, right? But then you may be asking…hm, WHY ESSENTIAL OILS?
Personally, I am more cautious when I am pregnant, as I am growing a little baby in me. I try my best not to take over-the-counter medicine, such as, Tylenol for headaches, IF I can find a more natural alternative, such as essential oils.
(NOTE: I am open to essential oils AND over-the-counter and prescribed medication. I believe that you should do what you feel is best for you! My first go-to will always be natural remedies (such as, essential oils) then will use other methods if that is not helping my situation.)
I personally take antidepressants daily for my depression and anxiety, but
I also use essential oils to help support my mental health and mood.
BOTH have helped me tremendously!
BEST Essential Oils to Buy!
DoTerra is my all time favorite essential oils brand. Growing up, my family were huge fans of essential oils. So I have always found it beneficial and supportive to my well-being.
Today, as essential oils become more popular, many essential oil brands unfortunately lower their quality of extracting plants and where they are getting their plants to make their essential oils more cost efficient.
For years, I was buying essential oils from whomever and where ever seemed like a “good deal.” I would purchase essential oils from Amazon, Whole Foods, etc. because who doesn’t want a “good” deal right?
But then I realized I was using them way too fast to get the correct potency, and then I was buying new essential oils way too often. THIS was an issue and a waste of money.
With DoTerra, you do not need to add as many drops in your diffuser or rollers to get the positive effects and benefits!
I love how transparent and honest DoTerra’s essential oils are. You can simply enter the code on your bottle to their website and see EXACTLY where, when, and all the specifics about your essential oil bottle.
Let’s state the obvious:
MOMS ARE AWESOME!
Because…we can do everything and anything! From growing a human to nurturing them for the rest of their lives, being a mom is a very rewarding “job”/role, but also very demanding on our bodies. Both mentally and physically.
I hope this post has been helpful for you!
This is by far one of my favorite posts, because essential oils have changed mine and my family’s lives for the better! We love that we have safe and natural methods to support us, emotionally and physically.
